P0562 on a Jeep: Causes, Fixes & Repair Cost
๐ Moderate severity ยท drivable
You can usually drive a Jeep for a short time, but a weak battery or failing alternator can leave you stranded, so get the charging system checked soon.
What P0562 means on a Jeep
On a Jeep, P0562 means the engine computer sees system voltage below about 10 volts. Some Wranglers and Gladiators use a main battery plus a small auxiliary battery, and a failing auxiliary battery can drag down the whole electrical system.
Is P0562 common on Jeeps?
P0562 is common on Grand Cherokees and Cherokees with aging batteries, and on Wranglers where the auxiliary battery fails. Jeep's electrical system is sensitive to low voltage, so a weak battery can trigger this code before the car stops starting, and corroded terminals and failing alternators are also frequent causes.
Commonly reported on: Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Gladiator.
