Editorial Policy
Our standard
Every page aims to be accurate, plain-English, and genuinely useful. We write for a car owner holding a code reader — not for a technician — and we keep the tone practical and honest.
How content is created
- Built from public, widely-cited OBD2 reference data
- Causes ranked by real-world likelihood, not alphabetical order
- Cost ranges are typical US-market figures, clearly labeled as estimates
Sources & transparency
We credit our open data sources (see About) and we don't invent statistics. If we're not confident in a fact, we leave it out rather than guess.
Updates & corrections
Every code page shows an "Updated" date. If you spot an error, email contact@obd2codelookup.com and we'll review and correct it.
