P0335 on a Toyota: Causes, Fixes & Repair Cost
⚠️ Severe · not recommended to drive
The engine may crank without starting or stall while driving, so have the Toyota towed to a shop.
What P0335 means on a Toyota
On a Toyota, P0335 means the engine computer is getting no signal from the crankshaft position sensor. Without that signal the computer can't time spark and fuel, so a Camry or Corolla may crank without starting.
Is P0335 common on Toyotas?
P0335 is less common on Toyotas than on some brands because their sensors are reliable, but wiring and connector corrosion show up on older trucks and sedans. The sensor sits low on the engine near the crankshaft pulley or transmission bell housing, where dirt and heat take a toll.
Commonly reported on: Camry, Corolla, Tacoma, RAV4.
