P0108 on a Volvo: Causes, Fixes & Repair Cost
๐ Moderate severity ยท drivable
Safe to drive, but the engine may run rough, hesitate, or lose power until the sensor issue is fixed.
What P0108 means on a Volvo
On a Volvo, P0108 means the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor is reporting a higher voltage than expected. Many Volvo engines, including turbo models, use a MAP sensor in the intake tract, and a bad reading can cause rough running or a loss of power. The sensor or its wiring is the usual suspect.
Is P0108 common on Volvos?
S60, V70, S80, and XC60 models can see P0108, usually from a failing sensor or a harness that has aged in the engine bay. On turbo Volvos it is worth checking for boost or vacuum leaks as well, since those can push the reading out of range.
Commonly reported on: S60, V70, S80, XC60.
