P0175 on a Jeep: Causes, Fixes & Repair Cost
🟠 Moderate severity · drivable
Drivable short-term, but a rich mixture can foul spark plugs and damage the catalytic converter if the code is left unfixed.
What P0175 means on a Jeep
On a Jeep, P0175 means the engine is running rich on bank 2 — too much fuel or too little air on the side opposite cylinder 1. Jeep's V6 and V8 engines have two banks, and this code points to the second one. The computer has cut fuel as far as it can and still sees a rich mixture.
Is P0175 common on Jeeps?
P0175 shows up on Jeeps with V6 and V8 engines, commonly the Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, and Cherokee. Leaking fuel injectors and a dirty or failing mass air flow sensor are the usual causes. A slow oxygen sensor can also keep the mixture rich on higher-mileage Jeeps.
Commonly reported on: Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Cherokee.
