P0341 on a Toyota: Causes, Fixes & Repair Cost
๐ Moderate severity ยท drivable
You can usually drive, but if the engine runs rough or stalls, stop and have the timing checked โ a jumped timing chain can cause major damage.
What P0341 means on a Toyota
On a Toyota, P0341 means the camshaft position sensor on bank 1 is sending a signal that is out of the expected range. The computer uses this sensor to time fuel injection and ignition, and the code can point to a failing sensor or, more seriously, a stretched timing chain or VVT issue.
Is P0341 common on Toyotas?
P0341 shows up on Toyotas with higher mileage, especially Camry, Corolla, and RAV4 models with VVT-i engines. A failing camshaft sensor is the common cause, but on high-mileage engines a stretched timing chain can also trigger the code, so it deserves a proper diagnosis.
Commonly reported on: Camry, Corolla, RAV4, Tacoma.
Symptoms
- Check engine light on
