P0430 on a Chevy: Causes, Fixes & Repair Cost
๐ Moderate severity ยท drivable
Drivable in the short term, but the bank 2 converter problem should be checked soon.
What P0430 means on a Chevy
On a Chevy, P0430 means the downstream oxygen sensor on bank 2 reports the catalytic converter isn't cleaning exhaust as well as it should. It's the bank 2 twin of P0420, common on V6 and V8 Chevys.
Is P0430 common on Chevys?
Higher-mileage Silverado and Tahoe models are the most common home for P0430, where converters and oxygen sensors wear with age. An exhaust leak near the sensor can also trigger the code without the converter being bad.
Commonly reported on: Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Equinox.
