P0102 on a Jeep: Causes, Fixes & Repair Cost
๐ Moderate severity ยท drivable
Usually drivable, but a weak MAF signal can cause rough idling or stalling, so get it checked soon.
What P0102 means on a Jeep
On a Jeep, P0102 means the mass air flow (MAF) sensor is reporting airflow lower than the engine computer expects. The computer can't meter the incoming air correctly, so the fuel mixture goes off and the engine may idle rough, hesitate, or stall.
Is P0102 common on Jeeps?
P0102 shows up on Jeeps with the 3.6L Pentastar V6, most often in Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, and Cherokee models. The MAF sensor wire gets contaminated, sometimes by over-oiled aftermarket air filters, and dirty air filters or loose intake clamps can cause it too.
Commonly reported on: Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Compass.
