P0102 on a GMC: Causes, Fixes & Repair Cost
๐ Moderate severity ยท drivable
Usually drivable, but a weak MAF signal can cause rough idling or stalling, so get it checked soon.
What P0102 means on a GMC
On a GMC, P0102 means the mass air flow (MAF) sensor is sending a signal lower than the engine computer expects. The computer can't measure the air coming in, so fuel delivery goes off and the engine may idle rough, hesitate, or stall.
Is P0102 common on GMCs?
P0102 shows up on GMC trucks and SUVs, especially the Sierra with the 5.3L V8 and the Terrain and Acadia with four-cylinder and V6 engines. The MAF sensor sits in the intake tube and gets contaminated over time; dirty air filters and wiring issues at the connector are also common on these models.
Commonly reported on: Sierra, Terrain, Acadia, Canyon.
