P0102 on a Lexus: Causes, Fixes & Repair Cost
๐ Moderate severity ยท drivable
Usually drivable, but a weak MAF signal can cause rough idling or stalling, so get it checked soon.
What P0102 means on a Lexus
On a Lexus, P0102 means the mass air flow (MAF) sensor is sending a signal lower than the engine computer expects. The computer can't tell how much air is entering, so the fuel mixture goes off and the engine may idle rough, hesitate, or stall.
Is P0102 common on Lexuss?
P0102 shows up on Lexus models with higher mileage, often the RX, ES, IS, and GX. Because Lexus shares Toyota engine designs, the usual story is the same: the MAF sensor wire gets contaminated over time, often by oil vapors from the PCV system. A dirty air filter or a loose intake tube clamp can also cause a low reading.
Commonly reported on: RX, ES, IS, GX.
