P0011 on a Jeep: Causes, Fixes & Repair Cost
๐ Moderate severity ยท drivable
You can usually drive a Jeep to a shop with P0011, but check the oil level first, and if the engine runs rough or the light flashes, have it towed.
What P0011 means on a Jeep
On a Jeep, P0011 means the VVT system is advancing the intake camshaft on bank 1 further than the computer commanded. The camshaft is ahead of where it should be, usually because a VVT solenoid or cam phaser is sticking.
Is P0011 common on Jeeps?
P0011 shows up on Jeep's 3.6L Pentastar V6 in the Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, and Cherokee. The Pentastar uses oil-driven cam phasers, so a failing VVT solenoid, low oil pressure, or a worn phaser are the common causes.
Commonly reported on: Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Cherokee.
